Well? It looks like Dakota Johnson can go ahead and breathe a huge sigh of relief. Her mom, Melanie Griffith, will not attend the Fifty Shades of Grey movie premiere because she has zero interest in seeing her daughter get down and dirty with a dude (over and over and over again) on the big screen. And don't worry, Don Johnson won't be there either. (Whew.)
Of skipping the big event, Melanie told Vanity Fair, "... it's her movie, you know what I mean? It'd be weird if mom and dad were there and Antonio and all of the family. It would just be awkward. But I'm sure it will be great. I really love Sam [Taylor-Johnson], the director. And Dakota has a really good head on her shoulders. She's no dummy."
OMG. Considering the Dakota Johnson admitted being freaked out by her parents seeing Fifty Shades a while back, I can't even imagine how happy she must be that they'll be absent when she makes her big debut.
Can you even begin to fathom sitting next to your mom and pops, of all people, while you're staring at the screen watching yourself have kinky, wild sex? (Even if it's simulated. Still mortifying as hell.)
But duh -- you know Melanie will probably wind up watching the flick at some point even if Don decides it's a little too much to handle. Regardless of the content, what mom wouldn't want to see her daughter starring in what might very well be the biggest role of her life?
Would you want your parents attending this premiere if you were Dakota?
