You know, I've gotta be honest here: I wasn't always a fan of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I mean, come on, guys. Let's be honest. They didn't exactly get together under the most pleasant of circumstances. But over the years, I've warmed up to them, as they really do seem to be the real deal. And then last night at the 2014 Academy Awards, my love for them as a couple was cemented.
Brad and Angie, will you accept this rose?
A clip of Jolie's honorary Oscar humanitarian speech from November was shared with the audience during the show, showing the actress tearing up and getting emotional while speaking about her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand. "My mother loved art. She loved film. But whenever it had meaning she had a point in telling me that is what a film is for. And to stand here today means I did as she asked and if she were alive she would be very proud. So thank you for that," she said in the short, but touching speech.
After the clip aired, the cameras naturally panned over to Brad and Angelina, where we saw him give her the sweetest, most loving kiss; and she give him the sweetest, most loving look. It was such a nice moment, and didn't seem staged at all. These two truly seem in love and like they need and support one another. So, I think it's time the people who are still harping on how they got together nine years ago move on.
Because, clearly, they have.
Check out the clip. You kinda love 'em, right?
