Lea Michele Reveals Last Words Cory Monteith Said to Her (LISTEN)

Lea MicheleIt's been seven months since the tragic death of Glee's Cory Monteith, and his girlfriend Lea Michele has been diligently working on her solo album -- much of which she attributes to Cory's unwavering faith in her as a solo artist. Lea's single from the album "If You Say So" is about Cory -- and she shares some incredibly personal information with her fans about the two of them. The song is inspired by Cory's very last words to her before he died alone in his hotel room from a drug overdose. Those words? "If you say so." And what preceded them is heartbreaking.

Lea sings in the song (co-written with the awesome Sia Furler):

It's been seven whole days without your embrace

I wanna see your face

I've got some things to say

It's just a week ago, you said I love you girl.

I said I love you more. And a breath, a pause, you said,

If you say so.

Ugh, it's so sad to think how much these two were in love right before he passed away, and how surreal and devastating it must have been for Lea to get this news.

Lea's song goes on to say how she feels about Cory's death -- how strange it is, and how she keeps looking for him and checking her phone to hear from him. Ugh.

Check out Lea's song. What do you think?

Am I the only on who thinks that's not romantic at all? I've never really said if you say so endearingly...

She revealed this months ago. Nothing is sacred with this girl.

Those words? "I told you so."

Where does it say 'I told you so'?

I think you have to be haunted by someone's last words to understand...especially when that someone is somebody you love and who dies completely unexpectedly...I get it...some people write songs to deal and some people sneak into a dark room and cry secretly (so as not to freak their kids out)...I know, I do it every night...and btw, mocking someone's pain is a pretty shitty thing to do...

Thank you, Sylph_ironlight. Yes....his "last words" according to the story's recounting of the song would be "If you say so." Which is it?? I

The link says the title of the song are the last words he said to her. If you say so....not I told you so. Once again Stir writers making up their own facts to write a story!

I write poetry to grieve and she writes songs. This is how she deals with the pain of losing someone she loves and that's ok. I think that it is beautiful

Gah!!! You people are SOOO mean! What do you care! She's grieving and probably will be for a long time. She has a beautiful voice and the song means something to her! She didn't write it to please you people - I assume that you are music critics, since you all feel that you are so right. Sounds to me that you are jealous that she can make an album and make money, while you all sit at home poor with nothing better to do than pick on someone who is in pain. I hope that nothing like this ever happens to any of you. Karma isn't very nice and I hope that she takes it easy on you all. Just my thoughts....oh and BTW I could care less what she sings or writes, I won't be buying the music. But the last time I checked it's America. We can all have opinions and we can all do what we want, I just hate to see such mean and hateful comments from people who are nothing more than someone with a computer and an internet connection and nothing better to do than pick on someone's pain. God Bless you all and good Luck with your anger issues.
