The recent announcement that Erin Andrews will be replacing Brooke Burke isn't the only major DWTS news this week. For months, diehard fans have been wondering about the next batch of celebs vying for that famed Mirrorball trophy when the new season begins March 17. ABC is planning to release the full cast list on March 4; however, two stars have already been leaked. And the picks aren't anyone you probably expected to see on the ballroom floor.
Among the ladies will be Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes and Full House alum Candace Cameron Bure, according to Perez Hilton.
Surprising picks, if you ask me. I had always heard that producers weren't big fans of the women from the Real Housewives franchise. But perhaps after Lisa Vanderpump's successful stint on the show, they opened up the door to more of them. They are certainly getting a showstopper in NeNe. Based on the way she acts on RHOA, she will likely bring the drama during both the competition and rehearsals. Still, it seems like a surprising turn for someone who considers herself an A-list star. She's always touting how "big time" she is. DWTS seems like something people do when they are trying to revive their career rather than at the height of it. But I suppose with The New Normal being canceled and Glee in its last season, she may be getting a little worried about staying relevant.
Candace certainly seems like a natural fit for the show. She recently came back into the limelight with her book Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose, in which she espoused the benefits of being a "submissive wife." Would be interesting to get NeNe's take on that!
Can't wait to see who else makes the cut.
Do you think NeNe or Candace stand a chance?
