Was it the twerking? Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have officially separated, y'all. The couple released a statement to People magazine, saying:
We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.
The two have been dating since he was 14 and she was 16, married in 2005, and have a son, Julian, who is almost 4.
The couple were scrutinized a lot last year. Paula saw her husband skyrocket to megafame with his hit song Blurred Lines. She also watched as Miley Cyrus did her twerking thing on him at the MTV Video Music Awards. Everyone wondered how she took it. Supposedly she was fine with it. Supposedly.
Then Robin got caught grabbing some blond girl's ass at a party. She was supposedly fine with that too. Supposedly.
Robin was also recently caught groping a young woman on a night club dance floor. No word on how Paula felt about that. Perhaps she was busy packing her bags. Or his.
Well, it could be more than Robin's fame and his wandering hands that finally did them in. The first few years of a baby's life are some of the hardest on marriage. They've also been together for 23 years. Like 2,000 years in Hollywood years.

Still, this is sad to hear. They were one of the few Hollywood couples that truly seemed to be making it work. Perhaps the fact that this is just a separation and no one has filed for divorce means there is hope yet. They could get back together just like Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman did after their separation.
I just hope he doesn't end up with Miley.
Did you see this coming? From how many miles away?
