Julianne Hough Has a New Man After Doing THIS to Get Over Ryan Seacrest

julianne hough self magazine coverRyan who? Julianne Hough made plenty of news for dating and breaking up with Ryan Seacrest, but she's obviously moved on from the American Idol host. The dancer/singer/actress was spied holding hands with hunky Canadian hockey player Brooks Laich, who plays for the Washington Capitals.

Apparently, the pair were set up by mutual friends and Julianne is "happier than ever." Aww! But so much for being single for an "entire year"! Oh yeah, turns out that was her goal after splitting with Seacrest.

Julianne talked to Self magazine about her love life -- seemingly "B.B." or before Brooks -- explaining:

There have been moments when I'm like, 'This sucks!' But my dad used to say to me, 'When you feel happy with who you are, you won't need anybody to fill a void.' So for now, I'm focusing on my work and my soul. I honestly don't care if I meet somebody or not. I'm just loving life on my own with my own two feet on the ground.

Good for her! Not to mention that ironically or not, that's exactly the attitude that seems to attract the best partner! When you're confident and self-assured and content in your own skin and life sans someone else, you just radiate happiness and positivity, and who wouldn't want to be around someone like that? It's infectious and magnetic! That said, it's certainly just one more benefit of taking some time out from relationships -- especially if you're serial monogamist -- to focus on you.

No wonder Julianne is over-the-moon with her new guy. He's probably an even better match for her because she did spend that almost year on her own. After all, don't we all want the person we end up with to be someone who falls for our best, most genuine selves?

How has being single (presently or in the past) helped you be happier in relationships?
