I guess now that he's got a ring on it and all the checks from ABC have been cashed, former Bachelor Sean Lowe is criticizing the franchise and lamenting his experience on the reality TV show.
Sean's made a video for the Evangelical Christian nonprofit I Am Second in which he claims, "Never in a million years did I think I would do a cheesy reality TV show about love," and goes on to boohoo about how dating multiple women at once on national television "felt wrong." Hmm, he sure didn't seem to mind it while he was doing it, eh? Sure didn't mind the fact that it led him to his now-wife Catherine Giudici or that it allowed them to have an extravagant wedding (again on national television) and enjoy a hefty payday for it!
The Bachelor (and former Bachelorette star's) confession:
It's unnatural to date 25 women at one time, and it felt wrong. A lot of the time, it felt wrong. I wrestled with it quite a bit, thinking, 'I'm pretty sure God opened this door, but what if he didn't? What if it's just an opportunity that came about, and what if I'm actually harming my testimony by going on a show and dating multiple people at one time, and kissing multiple people?'
Yeah, ooookay. You knew what you were getting into, buddy. You did it, you profited it from it, and yet you choose now to boohoo that it makes you a bad person and is gonna keep you from getting into Heaven?
Don't get me wrong. No matter what your religious or moral convictions, I can understand anyone being torn about the whole process in general! As we've noted again while watching current Bach Juan Pablo slut-shame one of his contenders Clare for "going too far," while making out with the other women around him, the whole premise of the franchise is seriously screwed up!
That said, after everything he's done FOR the franchise and all of the goodies he's been showered with as a result of it, Sean's whining really just comes off as seriously disingenuous. Forget kissing lots of beautiful women vying for his heart. He may wanna think about atoning for being a phony!
What do you think about Sean's regrets?
