Juan Pablo Thinks He Did Cassandra a Favor by Ruining Her Birthday

OMG 13

Juan Pablo Galavis & ladiesUgh. How bad did you feel for poor Cassandra last night on The Bachelor when Juan Pablo Galavis sent her packing unexpectedly before the rose ceremony?!?

She was so innocent and excited when he asked to talk to her for a second time after the cocktail party in New Zealand -- but of course, all of us watching at home knew exactly what was about to go down. (Which made the breakup even more painful to watch.)

But in a new blog post, Juan Pablo shared his thoughts on sending Cassandra home early -- on her 22nd birthday, nonetheless.

Here's what he had to say. Er, I mean write. (Whatever.)

Sending Cassandra home that night was very hard. When I got back to the girls I told them that she is a wonderful woman and deserves a great guy, but that I wasn't the right guy for her. The other girls then told me that night was her birthday, and I almost died. I was devastated, and at first I thought, "What a birthday present I just gave Cassandra!" I felt horrible.

After thinking about it longer, I realized that it was better to be honest with her and that she would now get to spend her birthday at home with her son. That made me feel better.

Huh. Let me get this straight. Juan Pablo honestly believes he did Cassandra a favor by dumping her on her birthday so she could spend it with her son?!?

Ok, so I sort of see his point -- but does he truly think she's ever going to forget about how and when he cut her loose? On every single birthday she has from here on out, she's going to wake up and say, "Oh. This was the day my boyfriend kicked me to the curb on national television because he really just wasn't as into me as the other handful of chicks he was dating."

I'm sorry, but he really does owe her an apology even if he sent her packing with the best intentions at heart. And for her sake, I hope her family and friends plan something totally amazeballs for her 23rd birthday in the hopes of making her forget about her 22nd altogether.

Do you think Juan Pablo was right to let Cassandra go when he did?

He doesn't owe her an apology.  Birthdays are for children.

Read what you typed, he wasnt aware it was her birthday, so dont make it sound as if he planned it on her birthday. Also honesty is always the best no matter what. He knew it wasnt gonna work so he was honest and he knew she missed her son. He was thoughtful enough to be honest and get her home to her son. He doesnt owe her an apology for being honest.

Technically, he doesn't owe Cassandra apology because he doesn't know it was her birthday or whatever reason he tries to eliminates her. HOWEVER, being gentleman and being a good human, he should apologize her just to make the situation better or her feeling better. I agree with JP said she deserved a great guy. That means JP is not deserve her. Cassandra is such a good girl, good heart, nice, innocent, pure, positive, whatever the good things i can't explain enough for her. I like her and yes, she deserves someone better than JP. I wish her for the best and find the right guy who has a good heart and takecare of her well.

Um, after reading an interview with Chris Harrison, he says he discussed with Juan Pablo that it was her b-day PRIOR to him letting her go.  Juan Pablo is a l-i-a-r and a playboy; no brain cells.  (just my opinion)  Here's the question to Chris Harrison (from MSN) & his response (from an MSN article):

Did you know he was going to eliminate Cassandra -- on her birthday no less?

I talked to him and was like, "You know it's her birthday, right?" I felt bad, but he said, "What am I going to do? I know I want her to go home. Should I not break up with her on her birthday just to break up with her a day later?" I agreed, but the circumstances were brutal. She'll always remember her 22nd birthday!

Birthdays are overrated.... my grandfather died on my birthday. You dont think I wake up every single birthday and think about that? Getting dumped is an everyday thing and she knew it was a possibility... she could have chosen not to do the show, knowing there was a chance her birthday could be ruined... I didn't get a choice, no one knew my grandpa was going to die, and trust me, forever losing someone who raised you is much more devastating than getting dumped by someone whos basically been intentionally cheating on you your whole relationship and you knew it and agreed it was ok....

Ok, give him some credit, he obviously wasn't into her like he is with other girls, and didn't want to keep her from her son any longer!! Seriously, he is all over every other girl when they get alone time, kissing, caressing, but not her....it was OBVIOUS that he wasn't that into her, and he let her go BEFORE the rose ceremony. As far as it being her birthday, I didn't see anything that led me to believe anyone mentioned it to him that it was her birthday, so I don't think he knew. She missed her son, and he didn't put her through the agony of a rose ceremony!! GIVE HIM A BREAK!!
