We all love Jennifer Lawrence and her obsession with food, right? That can’t be just me, right? Well, the costume designer for American Hustle may not be quite as fond of JLaw’s affinity for junk food as the rest of us are.

She apparently got Dorito dust on that super sexy white dress she wore in the movie, according to Oscar-nominated costume designer Michael Wilkinson. He recently revealed to Vanity Fair that four copies of the dress had been made, and good thing too, because Jen doesn’t have a problem with noshing whenever and wherever.

Her character was originally supposed to spill champagne all over herself, so they had multiple dresses made, because apparently movies aren’t all done in one shot.  “And I’m kind of glad we did,” Wilkinson said, “because Jennifer Lawrence is a very . . . let’s say . . . raw and intuitive young lady, and she’s not against eating Doritos and snack food in her costume. So we were glad that we had a couple [backups].”

At first I thought, hmmmm, did she take this a little too far? I mean, part of her charm is that the fame doesn’t seem to go to her head, but has she suddenly adopted a “screw you I’m Jennifer Lawrence and I’ll eat Doritos in costume if I want to” attitude?

Then I learned that the dresses were actually super cheap (the fabric cost $3.99 per yard) because the director wanted it to look cheap. And let’s face it, we all behave differently in different circumstances. If she were wearing an irreplaceable, super valuable item of clothing, I’d like to think she’d think twice about eating messy snack foods.

But when you know there are three backups just in case? Pass the Doritos.

Would you eat Doritos in a white dress?
