The 2014 Grammys may have just won the award for "shortest time it took for American parents to scream, 'Get to bed' to the kids during an awards show." Beyonce opened the show with a tiny black thong, mile-high fishnets, soaking wet hair, and a Flashdance-style dance on a chair that would have been hot all on its own. But then husband Jay-Z swaggered out to drop his rhymes on "Drunk in Love" and place his hands on his wife's derriere.
Yes, folks, Beyonce let her hubby feel her up on national television while she did a little bump and grind on him. I suppose we're just supposed to be grateful that she didn't stick her tongue out too?
Frankly, I don't think kids should see most awards show, so mine was already off in bed. But I saw plenty of folks -- parents and none -- on Twitter tonight asking why Hova and Bey didn't just GET A ROOM. At the risk of sounding like a prude, I have to agree.
Just because they're married to each other doesn't make the whole bump and grind any more appropriate than Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke's, folks. We didn't need to see all that, at least not at the opening of the show. Beyonce was more or less wearing undies. We could see her whole butt, y'all!
The couple also set off the censors several times, earning bleeps on whole sections of their performance for their curse words.
As a whole, the performance wasn't bad, but it would have probably been a heckuva lot better if it had been held for after 9 p.m.
What do you think? Watch the video and tell us -- was this an appropriate way to open the Grammys?
