Emily Maynard Shares Why Her Fourth Engagement Will Definitely Be the Charm

emily maynard tyler johnsonAfter losing her first fiance, Ricky Hendrick, in a tragic plane crash in 2004, getting engaged to Bachelor Brad Womack in 2010 only to break it off in 2011, then getting engaged to Jef Holm on her own season of The Bacheorette in 2012, only to call it off, it's no wonder a lot of people are invested in Emily Maynard's love life. And that she went on Good Morning America this morning to tell co-anchor Lara Spencer all about her exciting engagement news and how future husband, Tyler Johnson, stole her heart.

While most of us are thrilled for her, I'm sure there are still some skeptics out there! But judging from what she revealed, the fourth time really will be the charm for Emily ...

One reason: The two started off as friends. She explained to Lara:

We met each other at church, and I think that's why our relationship is so good now, because we started out as friends. ... We were really just friends and we got to know each other.

Friendship is always the best foundation for a relationship, and it doesn't hurt that they had the time to really get to know one another. Plus, it sounds like Tyler's super-romantic and invested not only in his bond with Emily but her daughter Ricki, too, who Emily says "wakes up saying, 'Where's Tyler?'" Aww!

When the man of the hour joined the interview via Skype, he retold their engagement story:

We got through Christmas and New Year's and had the girls back home. It wasn't long after that I went over one morning, woke the girls up, told them I was gonna cook 'em breakfast and kind of put 'em back to sleep. Then I brought 'em downstairs and proposed to her and Ricki. It was really special, really simple and a lot of fun.

And as far as Emily's concerned, the way he proposed was the "sweetest thing ever." She also went on to explain how she knows he's The One:

He's confident in who he is in his faith and has the kindest heart of any person I've ever known! Plus, he's a babe.

Ha, so cute! The couple couldn't seem more over-the-moon for one another ... I'm gonna go ahead and say it: Tyler is definitely a keeper. Can't wait to see them tie it up!

What do you think about Emily and Tyler's chemistry? Do you agree he's The One?

I just feel bad for her daughter.

Why ever would you feel bad for her daughter?? It sounds like she loves him and that's important. I wish them all the best and hope they have a wonderful life together. Emily deserves to be happy and I do think it sounds like she's found the right one this time. I was always uneasy about both Brad and Jef and it was so much better she found out they were mistakes before a wedding took place. Blessings to you both Emily and Tyler!

I am all in favor of a good ending, but how much money does he make? or better yet, how much money does he have?? Emily seems to only hook up with men that are loaded...she has been unemployed and living off of her first fiance's family since his death. I wonder how wonderful he would be if he were just a blue-collar worker??

Congrats Emily, Ricki and Tyler! I wish you all the best!

There is nothing in this article that says how she thinks he is different from Brad and Jef. As usual, misleading.

okay never liked her she doesnt care about love only money she is a gold digger she went on the show knowing brad was looking for love and she knew he wanted a wife and he chose her but she ended that because she wasnt ready makes no sense same thing second time except she was the bachelorette and she cheated on jef and ended it because she wasnt ready so what makes it different this time every year since her first passed away she has been engaged money hungry

Thomas Peterson

Yes all she thinks of is money... she has made no attempt to support herself just sat & used the money the family gave her, bet theey will be glad someone else will support her & Ricky now...

I think its very funny how everyone thinks shes only after money. They did an article somewhere a few months ago that i read where emily has the most money out of all the bachelorettes. And Rickis grandparents r millionaires. I truly dont think she is looking for money. I even read that tyler has a job... but i dont remember what it was.... but he is no millionaire in his line of work! I love emily. Brad had anger issues and jef was rich and they split up so where does it show she is money hungry?? And she could probably have any single NASCAR driver she wanted and they r all rich. I dont get it. Maybe just maybe she was looking for someone to love ricki as much as her. Maybe brad and jef didnt show it like tyler does... come on people... he proposed to both of them! How sweet is that! I hope this one lasts! Good luck guys :) :)
