The most recent Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock and her fiance Chris Siegfried may have yet to walk down the aisle, but they're already being considered a success story. Bachelor Juan Pablo even declared on his season's premiere that at the end of his journey of love, he hopes to keep up the trend, following in the footsteps of Des (and Sean Lowe) by finding The One.
But whether or not Des and Chris are still plenty happy together, it seems like wedding bells are still a ways off. The proof? Desiree tweeted that she's been trying wedding gowns on, but it's -- unfortunately -- not what you think.
Well, good to know she's excited, but why isn't she trying them on "for the real deal" yet? What's the hold-up? Isn't wedding fashion her thing? It's a bit surprising -- not to mention disappointing -- that she hasn't gotten that ball rolling as a bride-to-be!
Don't get me wrong. I actually don't think there's trouble in Des and Chris' Seattle paradise. Her procrastination may have more to do with ABC not allowing her to do that on her own, because they're going to want to be there to film it as part of a TV special, and they're obviously a bit tied up right now with Sean and Catherine's upcoming nuptials. Or could it be that Des is a total perfectionist and doesn't want to start trying on dresses until other ducks are in a row. Or she doesn't want to experience dress regret, which I've personally seen happen to brides who pick out their dress way too far ahead of the wedding.
Nonetheless, she could be setting herself up for even more stress if she puts off planning and details for too long. There's a lot to be said for having just enough time -- not too little or too much -- to plan your Big Day. If the planning and anticipation drags on for too long, it can become a total headache.
Still, I have a feeling Des is the type who could pull it all together pretty quickly if need be. But let's hope she doesn't wait 'til the absolute last minute, because being able to enjoy some anticipation is definitely part of the fun!
Why do you think Des is putting off trying on dresses "for the real deal"?
