Tori Spelling Makes a Major Downgrade From Her Privileged Childhood

Sasha Brown-Worsham

Tori SpellingTori Spelling may have grown up in the lap of luxury as the daughter of famed producer Aaron Spelling, but it looks like her marriage woes, four children, and issues with spending are catching up with her. She and her husband Dean McDermott, who are rumored to be on the outs, just moved into a new place -- their third in two years -- and this new rental is probably the lowest end of the homes she's had.

In mid December she moved into a $10,500 a month Tudor rental in LA's Encino neighborhood. It might seem like a lot, but when you consider that she grew up in an $85 million mansion, it's just kind of depressing.

Spelling has admitted to having money problems, more specifically, she's admitted that she has had trouble regulating herself when it comes to real estate. It's easy to understand when you learn how she grew up. Also, her marriage is deeply on the rocks.

All in all, it sounds like a pretty heartbreaking time for the once star of 90210, turned reality star, turned bestselling author. She may have been the butt of jokes once, but most people like her now and no one wants to see her suffer.

The reality is, when you grow up without having to think about money, it can be very hard to learn how to think about it again. Can we really blame her for not knowing how to handle money and for thinking she has more of it than she does? Was she really taught any better?

Spelling is kind of a sad case and a cautionary tale of what can happen when a child is raised with too MUCH privilege. They don't know when is enough. They don't now limits. And they don't know money.

But I don't blame her for that. And luckily, people care about her. They want to see her succeed and she will have ways of making more money. I am guessing she'll come out on top.

What do you think of Tori's money and marriage problems?
