Kate Middleton's 32nd birthday is on Thursday. Have you bought her a gift yet? I've been racking my brain for weeks now, because, I mean, what do you get the woman who has everything, and I finally just decided on a gift certificate for a mani/pedi. It's at a little salon a few blocks from Kensington Palace, and I figured what new mom wouldn't enjoy a few hours of pampering and Us Weekly to themselves? Hope she likes it.
William, on the other hand, reportedly has something big planned for his Kate's birthday. Something huge. Something ... I don't believe for a single, solitary nanosecond.
Many websites are reporting that the Duke of Cambridge has been trying to convince Taylor Swift to perform for the Duchess in some sort of private concert. Apparently, Middleton is a big Swift fan and met her at a charity event last year, so Wills "thought it would be the perfect gift." And to that I say: Bull shit! Sure, getting serenaded by TSwift sounds lovely, but we all know how Kate Middleton likes to spend her birthday: Low-key.
The past few years, Kate has celebrated her birthday, which falls right on the heels of the hectic holiday season, with only her family and maybe a few friends. The Duke has always given Kate incredibly thoughtful gifts -- last year, tickets to Cirque du Soleil; pearl earrings and a quick getaway to Scotland in 2009 -- but, like I said, they're never over the top, as that's not how Kate likes to celebrate.
If the rumors turn out to be true, and Kate does wind up hanging out with Taylor Swift to celebrate her 32nd, I'll be slack-jaw shocked. If I know my girl like I do, it'll be a quiet dinner somewhere with her parents, siblings, William, and George. After a day of pampering at her local salon, of course. Don't mention it, Kate!
Do you think Kate is going to meet Taylor Swift for her birthday? Do you think she'll like my gift?
