Uhhhhh ... am I the only one who was all excited about the "two-part" premiere of The Bachelor that started tonight -- only to be all kinds of "what the hell is this??" after about 20 minutes into it?
Um, I'm not sure if ABC simply needed to fill a time slot or if they are desperately trying to milk every ounce of interesting they can out of Juan Pablo Galavis' season -- but I feel like I just watched a full hour of pure fluff. (Not that I'm complaining about the shirtless parts.)
I'm just not sure tonight's "sneak peek" of Juan Pablo showed us anything we aren't already aware of. We get it. He's a single dad who also happens to be sexy as all get out -- which instantly makes women want to take their pants off.
But for his sake, I sincerely hope tonight's sampling of chicks was nothing more than a showcase of the bottom of the barrel -- because they don't exactly seem like women who are all gung-ho to become a wife and stepmom overnight. (Don't even get me started on little miss "free spirit.")
OMG. Based on the footage of Juan Pablo with his daughter Camila and his family -- he seems like a really genuine dude. And I hate to say it, but I really don't think he has the slightest idea of what he's getting into with these women, who are most likely going on The Bachelor for the sake of being on The Bachelor -- not for finding romance, true love, or anything in between.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what goes down when Juan Pablo meets all 27 women for the first time tomorrow night. At this point things aren't looking promising.
And with all due respect ... what was up with the 10-minute tribute to Gia Allemand at the end of the show? Don't you think ABC should've done a special show solely about her instead of looping her tragic death in with Juan Pablo's premiere? It just seemed so out of place.
Something is odd about this whole season already. I can feel it. But duh ... of course I'm psyched to see what goes down when Juan Pablo actually meets the gals tomorrow night. I'm only human and I don't get out nearly as often as I should. Monday nights are where it's at right now.
What did you think of tonight's Bachelor pre-show?
