It's not like this is the first time she's hinted that there was something fishy going on, but after hearing Kristin Cavallari admit The Hills was fake while appearing on Bethenny this week -- I'm pretty bummed out.
No, I'm not stupid enough to think the show was entirely unscripted. Ok, so maybe I did think it was real when it was airing and I was glued to the TV to see what would go down each week. Whatever.
Anyway, this time around, Kristin went beyond simply saying she'd had a few fake scenes here and there. She offered up much juicier details, people -- and they're a total buzz kill.
Get this one. Kristin told Bethenny the whole Brody Jenner romance was nothing more than a sham. She said:
Brody Jenner at the time was dating Jayde Nicole. I dated Brody when I was 18, right after Laguna Beach, actually, and that's it. And then on the show, on The Hills, they had us 'dating' for a few episodes. They pretended that him and Jayde broke up and I was dating Brody, and Jayde and I got into a huge fight because she saw us in a club. It wasn't real at all. They were together the entire time.
WTF? First of all, who would "fake date" Brody Jenner? Girlfriend or no girlfriend, he's a hunk of a man worth fighting over -- so it's (a little) surprising that Kristin wasn't pursuing him for real. Wouldn't your competitive spirit kick in over a dude -- even if it were for the sake of a "reality" show?
Wait ... it gets worse.
Kristin even went so far as to admit that she was simply "playing a character" on The Hills. So she was playing herself, but not really. Ok, I think I get it now.
More from The Stir: Kristin Cavallari Ruins Reality TV With Revelations About 'The Hills'
Ugh. Way to go and destroy the last small glimmer of hope we had that any part of The Hills was authentic, Kristin. Oh come on ... I can't be the only one who is pretty disappointed by all this!
Did you ever think The Hills was real?
