Ben Affleck Says Wife Jennifer Garner Is the ‘Most Important Person’ in His Life

Awww! 7

So Ben Affleck is just about the sweetest husband ever. In a recent interview, he said that his wife Jennifer Garner is the “most important person” in his life. He said that even though his 2003 movie Daredevil bombed at the box office (and with critics and audiences alike), the silver lining was that he fell in love with his future wife on the set.

He also talked about his string of film failures in the early to mid 2000s (remember Gigli? Sorry for bringing up that painful memory), and how Jen was his motivation to keep going. Even after The Paycheck and Surviving Christmas.

He said that that time in his life was the “perfect storm” of ill-received movies and mass media attention.

My wife was definitely around then. Getting to know her, falling in love with her, and being connected with her gave me a foundation to reach out and say, "Okay, I’m going to do Hollywoodland; I’m going to direct Gone Baby Gone." Those were the steps forward I needed to put positive stuff on the board.

Awww! Sweet. Ben and Jen seem like one of those couples that are very content with their relationship. I’m sure they have ups and downs like anyone else, but they just always seem so gosh darn comfortable with each other and their kids. It’s almost like they like spending time with each other, and chose to do so freely.

They met on the set of Pearl Harbor, but didn’t start dating until 2004. They married in 2005 and have added Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Samuel, 21 months, to the brood. He added about Jennifer:

She is by leaps and bounds the most important person to me in that respect ... Over the past 10 years she has allowed me to have a stable home life while accomplishing my professional goals.

Affleck (somewhat wisely) remarked that the two A-listers don’t have plans to work together on another movie any time soon.

My wife and I made Pearl Harbor and Daredevil. With our track record, I don’t know if anyone’s looking for a three-quel.

That’s probably a good idea.

Do you wish this couple would pair up on screen again?

I applaud him. Happy mother= happy home= happy kids. When Dad puts Mom first he's teaching his kids a wonderful dynamic. I had a wonderful childhood because my parents immense bond made me feel so safe. Like he said, a stable home. Doesn't lessen his love for his kids.

"She is by leaps and bounds the most important person to me in that respect,"

If you actually read the article you would see he said that because she was his motivation to keep his career going after doe back career choices and because of that, he's had some really great career moves while still maintaining a stable home life.

Your spouse should be your best friend.

I liked Daredevil.

I think people are forgetting that the most important thing in a marriage should be between a husband, wife, and any kids. and nobody else.
