Former Felicity star Keri Russell heard some noises around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning coming from the upper floor of her Brooklyn Heights brownstone. She got up to investigate the disturbance that had woken her up, and found a window in her living room and her front door wide open.
Keri Russell got burglarized! I wonder if the crooks knew they were in a celebrity’s home? And that she was sleeping just a room or two over? The actress, who’s currently working on the FX series, The Americans, reported to the police that the thieves made off with a laptop computer, a necklace, earrings, and a Filson handbag.
I don’t know what a Filson handbag is, but I’m going to assume it’s posh, since it’s a “handbag” and not a dowdy old “purse.”
Anyway, police arrested two men a few blocks away, after attempting another burglary -- this time the residence of a non-famous 70-year-old white woman. The woman described the men, and they picked them up nearby and took them in for questioning.
The NYPD got Keri’s stuff back for her, and delivered it personally to the set of The Americans.
While on the show set, Russell told The New York Post, “The New York City cops were awesome. They’re bringing my stuff back right now — when does that ever happen?!” Um, probably whenever cops have a chance to meet famous pretty actresses, Keri. Just a wild guess.
Russell’s rep said, “Everyone is fine, and Keri sends her thanks to the police. She returned to work on The Americans today.”
All’s well that ends well, and I’m glad the robbers got caught.
Have you ever been burglarized?
