I know I usually give them a really hard time, but after seeing this photo of Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried in Antigua, I'm kind of choking on my negative-Nelly words a little bit. She shared the pic on Instagram and captioned it with, "This Seattle rain makes me want to go back to Antigua for the sunshine! And it's such a special place to us. #whereChrisProposed"
Duh, we know that's where he proposed. But that's beside the point. Check out how happy Des and Chris look in this particular shot. Don't they appear to be ... you know, like a "normal" couple? (Aside from the major case of red eye Chris has going on. Kind of makes him look like a zombie.)
They look so relaxed together. And content. And not at all like a couple who is trying to fake their feelings for each other for the sake of a good reality TV show.
It's like they finally take a step back and breathe once the cameras stop rolling, and it's so much easier to believe that they're actually in love -- not in love with the idea of having a big TV wedding and being famous and all that good stuff.
Sure ... the opportunities and recognition that come as a result of being a Bachelorette couple are definitely nice perks -- but Des and Chris need to get back to the basics if they really want their relationship to last.

They should forget the poetry book, which they're shamelessly trying to sell more copies of by selling phone calls and face-to-face meetings to people who are willing to shell out more cash. And maybe they should nix the TV wedding all together and run off to Antigua and elope instead. It's clear that's where they are most happy, so why not make things official in the same place they got engaged?
Des and Chris have a valid shot at real happiness for sure. But if they don't quit letting being in the spotlight go to their heads, they might be in for a very rude awakening.
Do you think fame will ruin Des and Chris?
