Well, that's it. The Dancing With the Stars semifinals are over, and I gotta say -- tonight's episode was one of the most entertaining two hours in the history of all 17 seasons, at least for me. And I'm not just talking about the performances. Sure ... there were some pretty amazing routines, especially from Amber Riley and Derek Hough and Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff.
But my favorite part of the whole deal was definitely Maksim Chmerkovskiy joining the crew as a guest judge. OMG. How hot was he? He even shaved, people.
Everybody seemed to want a piece of him -- which can't have made his gal pal Kate Upton too terribly happy.
First of all, Bruno Tonioli was all over him. (Not that you can blame the dude.) He had a hand or an eye on him practically the entire night, which had to make Maks slightly uncomfortable, right?
But while I'm sure Kate isn't too concerned about Bruno stealing her man -- what the heck was going on between Maks and Karina?!? He was all about complimenting her choreography skills up and down -- and then she went so far as to run over and kiss him! Damn. That girl has some serious balls. (Kate might wanna keep a close eye on her man after tonight. Just sayin'.)

Check out this clip of her rumba with Corbin. Are she and Maks getting their flirt on or what?
Oh yeah. There's more going on there than meets the eye. Ex-fiancés typically aren't as ... cordial to each other. (Interesting.)
But even though Maks was definitely the main attraction tonight, I guess I need to at least mention who will not be going to the finals next week -- Leah Remini. And as much as I adore her, I can't say that I'm surprised. Bill Engvall has been picking contestants off one by one every single week. If things keep going his way, he could even wind up taking home the mirror ball trophy. (Yes, I'm serious.)
What did you think of Maks as a guest judge, and are you sad to see Leah go?
