Jake Gyllenhaal must be one helluva boyfriend. Taylor Swift was so gutted by their breakup after a mere two months of dating that she apparently wrote the entire Red album about him, which would include her two major breakup anthems, "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," which is weird cause I think everyone thought those were about Harry Styles.
In an interview with New York magazine, Taylor admits she heard from the guy that "most of Red was about" and that he was pretty cool about the whole thing. She tells the mag:
He was like, "I just listened to the album, and that was a really bittersweet experience for me. It was like going through a photo album." That was nice. Nicer than, like, the ranting, crazy emails I got from this one dude.
This one dude? Harry, is that you?
While die-hard Swifties had long pointed out that Taylor had written Red before she began dating Harry, Taylor herself can be blamed for the confusion. She once imitated Harry's British accent in the middle of performing, "We Are Never ... " and also said that it wasn't hard accessing the emotion she needed to sing "Trouble" when the guy it was written about was sitting there watching her ... and that guy was Harry! So confoozling!

Jake and Taze only dated for a couple of months, so it's a bit strange that he would inspire a whole slew of songs. Dang, what happened in those two months? Jake must have rocked her world.
Taylor also says she'll never stop writing about her ex loves:
It's a lot more mature way of looking at a love that was wonderful until it was terrible, and both people got hurt from it -- but one of those people happened to be a songwriter. So what are you going to do? Did you not Wikipedia me before you called me up [for a date]?
Haha. Burn, Taylor!
The reality is that most of these guys are probably pretty flattered by the whole thing. As someone who wrote a book about her ex, the only person who was upset was a friend I mentioned in passing. He thought I didn't describe his looks accurately.
The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference, so at least these guys know they were well loved by Taylor!
As for Jake, I'm seeing him with new eyes now! This still leaves the question of which songs are about Harry. Guess we'll have to wait for the next album. At least there won't be any mystery about that one!!
Did you know Red was about Jake?
