Despite his reputation as a serial dater, George Clooney is known as one of the classiest dudes in Hollywood. So it's surprising that in a new interview in Esquire magazine, George disses some of his fellow A-listers. Specifically, Gorgeous George goes after Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. And you thought it was women who had the market cornered on catty. Maybe George is still smarting from his breakup with Stacy Keibler.
First, the star of Gravity took on Russell Crowe who, let's face it, is a bit of a tool, so this isn't that surprising. Crowe threw down the gauntlet first, reportedly saying that Clooney was a "sell out" and calling him a "Frank Sinatra wannabe." Dang, Crowe needs his own Bravo show.
Clooney fired back, dishing to Esquire: "He really went after me." He says he then sent crusty Crowe a note saying that when celebrities fight, "the only one who wins is People magazine."
Crowe then ate crow, responding, according to Clooney: "I think he said 'I was misquoted,' and I was like, 'Yeah, yeah whatever.'"
Hmm, probably the same thing George will be saying about this Esquire interview! Ha!
George then took on Leo DiCaprio. He's apparently still irate about a pick-up game George and his crew had with Leo's crew, in which Leo and his pals taunted George and his pals about their basketball skills. Isn't this just what dudes would fight about? After Leo and his buds ran their mouths, saying they would "kick ass," George and his bros trounced the younger rival, 11-0. George gloated to Esquire:
The discrepancy between their game and how they talked about their game made me think of how important it is to have someone in your life to tell you what’s what. I’m not sure Leo has someone like that.
And he wasn't finished yet. Although he had nothing but soft words for his Ocean's Eleven costar Brad Pitt, he confessed that he and the dad of six "shared a lot of vodka" one day in London. Sheesh, outing your pal's heavy drinking! See if Brad gets soused with you again.
Well, who knew that George, Russell, and Leo could be such catty little bitches. I love it! Totally want to hang with them.
Do you think George was being catty or just honest?
