If you thought Miley Cyrus' twerktacular VMAs performance was ... puzzling, you should get a load of the singer's MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) appearance. Cyrus performed "We Can't Stop," fondling a little person along the way, but it was her acceptance speech for Best Video (for "Wrecking Ball") that really took the cake. Miley appeared to be smoking a joint onstage while receiving the award. And while the EMAs were held in Amsterdam, where marijuana is legal, was this really necessary?
Before the show started, Katy Perry tweeted, "For tonight's performance of UNCONDITIONALLY on @mtvema I will be letting the LIGHT in & then making you SHINE! ?#dontneedtobehighforthis?" To which Miley responded, "@katyperry @mtvema but you may want to be." To which Perry then responded, "@MileyCyrus #afterparty." Hahahaha! Celebs chatting with other celebs, guys. Don't you just love it?
By this point we all know that Miley's going to do whatever she wants, whenever she feels like it (she's shocking, I tell you!), but the whole smoking a joint on stage thing is kind of lame. If Miley wants to indulge in an herbal refreshment on her own time, live and let live, man. But smoking on stage just makes her seem like she's trying too hard. Like, you really couldn't put that joint down for two minutes to go accept your award?
Ah, whatever. At this point, I feel like we're all just kinda numb to Miley's antics. We get it. You're cray, girl. So, actually, if you really want to shock people, Miley, don't try so hard to be shocking. That's the one thing you could do right now that would send us all for a loop. And isn't that exactly what you want?
What do you think of Miley smoking on stage?
