Lea Michele 'Glee' Spinoff News Has Us All Sorts of Excited

TV Addict 9

Lea MicheleIs the world ready for more Lea Michele? Well Glee creator Ryan Murphy sure hopes so. A source has told Radar Online that a Glee spinoff for the show's main gal is "definitely happening." And get this, the spinoff could involve more of our classic McKinley favorites as well.

An insider "close to the show" spilled to the website, saying, "They're making deals now and it also presents a viable exit plan for the main Glee series itself -- in that some of its core cast would also migrate to the Lea Michele project as Glee is showing signs of aging."

Signs of aging? Well, I've gotta be honest, I couldn't agree more. I still appreciate all that Glee has become, but even before Cory Monteith's unexpected passing, it felt like the show was starting to head downhill.

Just think about how many possibilities there are in a spinoff including so many of the McKinley original favorites? I mean, call me an old school Gleek -- but my favorite plot lines of the show to this day are the ones that involve Lea Michele, Naya Rivera, Chris Colfer, and the other cast favorites that started the entire Glee revolution. I would love to see them all plopped down in New York for good. I can just envision it now: Friends but with Glee characters and less babies.

Okay okay, I won't get ahead of myself. While there are some reports that this spinoff is a definite go, there are others saying a Glee spinoff is just heresy. I for one have my fingers crossed for something new.

What would you like to see in a Glee spinoff?

I have been a Glee Fan since day one, but come on Ryan, seriously. Why do they take great shows, wonderful premises and then spin them off and then the sequels are never as good and they ruin the whole idea of such great tv. I hate that. Once Upon a Time is one example of that. Great show, didn't need another one. That would be like giving 'Lost' a spinoff, to where? Death?

All I want is a spin off about the Dalton Academy Warblers

Willie Jermaine Payne

I definitely wouldnt mind a spin off series as long as Mercedes and Rachel are there singing! Singing against each other would be even better! (y) Loved the competition between them

Julia Rose Gervasi

I wouldn't mind a spinoff actually I'm excited for one. If it is like Glee Season 1, 2, and a bit of 3 then yeah of course

I hope they bring Dianna/Quinn back.

Some spin offs actually do better. NCIS was a spin off of JAG and NCIS has been on the air longer then JAG.

I think Lea would rock a Glee spin-of!! I would love to see these characters grow up. As long as Ryan Murphy is involved it will be good. I would like to see Kurt, Burt and Carole, Mercedes, Santana, Blaine, Quinn and Artie for sure. Also Demi and Adam are awesome. :). But we still have Season 5 & 6 to get through. Wasn't Adam Lambert awesome! More Starchild! lol
