Forgive me for stating the obvious, but Chris Brown is a HOT MESS. Given his latest antics, I felt it beared mentioning yet again. In the wake of his arrest on an assault charge Sunday, the hot-headed rapper is headed to rehab.
So what is the notorious star rehabbing exactly? That's not clear. There is no indication that he actually has a substance abuse problem. As a statement from his rep explained, "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point." So he wants help with his troubling anger management issues.
Probably a smart move considering this latest brawl could land him in prison. It finally demonstrates remorse for his outrageously trashy -- and criminal -- behavior. But if you ask me, it's too little too late. In the years since he brutally attacked ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown can't seem to stay out of trouble. From fights with Drake and Frank Ocean to window-breaking outbursts on Good Morning America, he has never once seemed as though he was trying to change.
So perhaps the judge will take this rehab stint into consideration. Lucky for him, in Washington, a fight is a misdemeanor. However, a judge could revoke his probation from the previous criminal case. It's really sad that he couldn't get it together before now. He's had so many chances to redeem himself, but it's as though he's too arrogant and ignorant to care. For his sake, I hope this is the wake-up call that he so desperately needs.
In a surprising turn, another star has offered the best advice possible. In a recent interview, Mike Tyson said Brown should, basically, stop punching people and acting crazy because eventually no one will want to work with you. Listen to the man Chris. He knows of what he speaks!
Do you think rehab will do Chris Brown any good?
