Lady Gaga recently presented Sharon Osbourne with a birthday cake for her daughter Kelly when both stars appeared on the U.K. version of The X Factor. The proper response would have been a simple and polite "thank you," but instead Kelly lashed out on Instagram by telling Gaga to "eat my s----t."
Now I've liked Kelly since she was a little kid with a sassy mouth on her family's reality TV show. So it pains me to have to say this, but: Kelly, what the heck is your problem with Lady Gaga? Why won't you let it go already? And while we're on the subject, could you please watch your language? You are dressed like a princess lately, but still speak like a silly goth teenager.
It's no secret that Kelly and Gaga have been feuding since 2009, when the Fashion Police star called the singer a "butterface." Not nice, Kelly. Gaga had every right to then criticize Kelly for making her bones by tearing down the looks of others -- which, let's admit, as much as I love Joan Rivers and her show, is the exact point of the show. The singer's fans -- known to be a little, uh, intense -- rushed to Gaga's defense and reportedly tweeted horrible messages to Kelly about how she should be raped and should just kill herself -- which is, needless to say, mean, bullying behavior. But Gaga isn't responsible for the mindless things her fans say, right?
So despite not really starting the fight, Gaga extended an olive branch by offering a birthday cake to Sharon for Kelly. She made an effort. Why not just accept it and leave well enough alone? Even Sharon tweeted that she was "Blown away by Lady Gaga's performance and graciousness."
Kelly took offense to the gesture and responded by tweeting: "Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the [world] away? #JustSendItToME #LoveNotWar" Hmm, sounds kind of ungrateful to me. Gaga even responded kindly to this by tweeting her directly: “I didn’t know it was your B-day until this afternoon. Meant as a peace offering. Happy Birthday.”
Yeesh, what more do you want, Kelly? Does she have to personally deliver the cake to you on her hands and knees after you publicly called her ugly? I think Gaga can sleep soundly knowing she did what she could. Ball's in your court, Kel.
What do you think of the feud between Kelly Osbourne and Lady Gaga?
