Well, if this isn't one of the most random celebrity feuds ever to emerge from Hollywood, I don't know what is. Tori Spelling has slammed Katie Holmes in her new memoir, Spelling It Like It Is, saying that the former Mrs. Tom Cruise is "plastic and can't sing for shit." What the hell, right?! And Tori doesn't stop there! She really has it out for poor Katie!
In her book, Spelling recounts the first time she met Holmes, writing: "Dawson's Creek Katie was exactly what you'd expect. She was wearing jeans and a tank top. Her hair was down. She was shy but engaging, and altogether pretty adorable." But apparently Tori's next encounter with Holmes, which took place outside of her vocal coach's music room, wasn't to her liking. Spelling wrote:
As I sat waiting outside his music room, I heard his prior appointment working with him in the other room. It was some actress singing horribly off-key. I heard him say good-bye and then the actress walked out of the room. It was Katie Holmes. I didn't know whether we should hug or shake hands. But the signal from her was immediately clear: Don't even come close. She was just plastic. I thought, 'I know you're not a robot because you can't sing for s--t.'
Tori then went on to explain that her weird meeting with Holmes was shortly before her split with Tom Cruise was announced.
Three possibilities here for you, Tori: One, maybe Katie was embarrassed because she knew you heard her singing "horribly off-key"? Two, perhaps she was upset because she was in the middle of a divorce? Or three, maybe she just didn't want to do the fake Hollywood thing and kissy-kiss huggy-hug with someone she hadn't seen in years? Sure, it can be hurtful to have someone be cold to you, but I'm not quite sure it's grounds for humiliating them in a book and letting the world know what a horrible voice they have.
I've always enjoyed Tori Spelling, but I've gotta say: This is out of line. Tori's clearly just trying to boost book sales here. And while this cheap tactic may, in fact, work to her advantage, it's pretty cold. I mean, sheesh, Tori, we know you have a heart. You're not a ... robot ... right?
What do you think of what Tori had to say about Katie?
