Yesterday I found myself in a conversation questioning the legitimacy of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. By now we've all seen Kim and Kanye's epic proposal video. We've all oogled and oggled at the three public photos of little baby North. And of course, we've wished that just like Kimmy K. -- we too had someone to take us to Paris, give us a rose, and have some "stranger" capturing the whole thing on film as to make the entire world jealous. (Or wait, is that just me?)
So when a girlfriend of mine asked me if I think Kim and Kanye's love is really serious -- my reaction was yes. Yes, it's serious dammit. The man rented a baseball stadium and an orchestra to ask her to marry him! My reasoning could be based on these convictions alone, but it doesn't need to be. Because the interview Yeezy gave on the day he proposed says it all for me.
This man couldn't love Kim Kardashian any more if he tried. The way he speaks about her ... is priceless. Here, let's look at exhibit A:
The part where Ye says he loves Kim just as much as his mom:
I have never loved any girl, other than my mother, as much as I love my girlfriend. I'm so happy to be with her, to live this life together, and -- with our relationship with God -- to be able to live forever in heaven together, and also to raise a strong family that communicates truth and beauty.
Taking it to that hangin' in heaven level, eh? Wow. Kanye, that's some serious shit.
The part where he gushes about Kim's public presence:
God has now given me another master of the social skills, my girl. She's like the No. 1 socialite in the world.
The No. 1 socialite in the world must love it when her man praises her social skills. But this next part, this is the part that does me in:
This girl is one of the No. 1 designers in the world. I don't know exactly what her numbers are, but Sears does something like 300, 400 million a year. She's been spending her whole check on clothes since she was 16, just like me.
See -- there you have it. Kim and Kanye, a match made in fashion designing, social butterfly heaven.
You get what I'm saying, don't you? This man is so in love with his woman he thinks she's the No. 1 everything. Heck, he'd probably tell you he thinks her right elbow is absolutely gorgeous, the most gorgeous of all the right elbows in the world, if given the right platform to stand on.
It's that lust, that level of happiness that makes me think Kim's one lucky lady. I mean, has any man ever been straight up convinced that his woman is the BEST, period? I don't care if this is her third marriage. Seems to me like with Kanye, third time's a charm.
Do you believe Kim and Kanye are head over heels?
