'Glee' to End After Season 6 in a Way No One Expected

This Just In 11

gleeAll Glee fans knew that one day, this day would come. After years and years of meandering around the halls of McKinley High, amazing cover after cover from our favorite artists, and maybe one-too-many spilled slushies -- the hit FOX show that we've all come to love is coming to an end. Creator Ryan Murphy confirmed the news at an FX Networks event this week, saying that the show will end after season 6.

Turns out that the plan for the show was completely thrown off-course with the unexpected event of Cory Monteith's passing. And what Murphy had to say about the show's ending, well, it may break your heart a little.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

According to Murphy the final year of the show was completely based around Rachel and Finn's story. He said:

I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew when the last show was -- he was in it. I knew what the last line was -- she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens, you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now.

It's upsetting and makes me so curious as to exactly what would have happened if Cory were still with us. But there is a bit of good news -- Murphy has an idea of how to end the show that will satisfy everyone AND honor Monteith. What could that be, I wonder? Well, this is a bit far-fetched, but what if they would fast forward things and Kurt and Blaine were to adopt a son and name it Finn (or Cory, even)? Or maybe Rachel makes it big on Broadway, and one of the kids who greets her out back after the show is wearing Finn's football number?

The possibilities, they're there. I just can't wait to see what really happens.

Will you be upset to see the end of Glee?

Yes  absolutely just reading about  Glee ending is pulling on my heart strings it's totally both heart and gut wrenching I don't think any of us ever wanted to see Glee end certainly not in the way it is unfortunately no-one seen it coming or had any control of what was to come when it arrived. I really fully understand that the story line was based  on and around Finn and Rachel's lives and there is no other choice then ending Glee altogether. We all have to keep in mind that the season's we do have of Glee will always  be something special that never will be forgotten and I will treasure it for the rest of my life. With saying this I would like to take time to thank the main creators and all the people that helped make Glee a brilliant show of our time. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH for lifting my spirits up with the songs and all the brilliant and talented cast characters I send my love to you all Glee will always will be a big part of my life. I'll forever remain one of your many fans from Australia. <3 xxxx

I will be disappointed when there are no new Glee episodes, but at the same time, it kinda seems like it's time for it to end soon. It'll be bittersweet.

It's a shame that GLEE is ending considering that there is SO much Talent out there that they can't seem to see beyond the original cast and move on. Guess that's what happens when a show relies on the same characters season after season and can't move forward with new characters.

truth... truthrowan

In the Memorial episode Rachel said "I always imagined he'd be teaching here, and one day I'd just come in and say "I'm home" and we'd be together." I figure that's what Murphy probably planned on, and now it will never be.
