Given how the reported details of Robert Pattinson's love life seem to change from hour to hour, we might as well just face the facts. The man's post-Kristen Stewart romances may be destined to remain a mystery. What torture!
Thankfully, he's not a completely closed book, because there's ONE thing we've learned about the supposedly single guy: What he's looking for in a potential girlfriend. Or should I say smelling for?
Apparently Rob told the Portuguese magazine Activa that he needs to be attracted to a woman's scent. He explained:
It doesn’t necessarily have to be perfume. I like the smell of people. It is really strange, and I’m sure it has to do with pheromones. We like people because subconsciously we like the way they smell. I always find this very interesting to observe.
Ha. While it may sound sort of bizarre to admit that out loud, I'd argue that it's actually not so strange at all. I'd guess he's quite right about the pheromones bit, too. This is speaking from personal experience ... I can without a doubt recall how I dated guys whose natural, basic smell/scent/natural manly odor or whatever you want to call it felt off to me. And I can remember back to when I first started dating my husband, feeling like his scent even at its most natural -- not his cologne, body wash, soap, deodorant, etc., but just HIM -- smelled familiar, comfortable, attractive.
I've heard other couples admit the same. An attractive scent is one of those ways you just know it's right with someone ... And as HollywoodLife.com points out, Kristen was downright obsessed with Rob's scent, having told Vogue last year, "I love the way [my boyfriend] smells. And him me."
Wow, sounds like a match made in olfactory heaven, huh? Well, since Robsten's potential for a romantic future lookin' majorly bleak these days, here's hoping Rob finds someone else whose smell he adores as much or more than Kristen's!
How does someone's scent factor into how you're attracted to them?
