Holy handcuffs, Batman; there is huge news for Fifty Shades of Grey fans. After all the hemming and hawwing over whether Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam could really play Christian Grey, fans seemed to finally be warming up to the hunky actor ... just in time for him to quit! Yes, it's true! Charlie Hunnam will NOT be in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
I'll give you just a moment for that one to sink in, folks.
Do you know what this means?
The field is back open! Robert Pattinson (who Fifty Shades author E.L. James herself has said she favors) could actually be our Christian! Or maybe Ian Somerhalder. Or ... or ... or.
Oh the possibilities!
By the way, the studio has not said WHO will replace Charlie as Christian. The official statement only read:
The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.
How are you feeling about this news? Were you Team Charlie?
