OMG. I've been outsmarted by Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, and now I can just give back my degrees and call this thing called life quits. It all started when I became abnormally excited after hearing that the off-their-rockers duo -- formally and obnoxiously known as Speidi -- were launching a new web series called SpeidiShow. Let me make this clear: I can't ordinarily stomach this couple and am still waiting for the day when too-classy Lauren Conrad gives her former The Hills costars their comeuppance.

But that's totally not the point.

Speidi's web series sounded nothing short of a-maaazing. In one episode, Spencer and Heidi give real-life couples love advice. In another, they travel Europe with no money. In the one that excited me more than the birth of my second child, they cater a wedding.

The laugh's on me, though, because SpeidiShow doesn't actually exist!

It seems that publicity mastermind Spencer teamed up with a couple of savvy writers to see how far they could go if they created a fake website with information and photos from the "show," and launched a media campaign for it via Twitter. Guys, it means nothing if they fool me or a bunch of other mere mortals -- but they fooled MTV! The network even wrote a review of the show.

And Spencer continues to Tweet about his nonexistent show, even though the jig is most assuredly up. Just a few hours ago he posted:

Next week's episode of #SpeidiShow Don't Throw a Fitspiration!

I don't have the foggiest clue what he's talking about, and I would still tune in to watch this nonsense.

The important question here is what does all this mean for us, the victims of any and all possible upcoming reality shows featuring these two? Is Spencer dipping his feet in American waters again -- after appearing most recently with Heidi on UK Celebrity Big Brother -- and will all of this publicity over his stunt persuade him to actually make this web series?

Let's hope not. I don't know about you, but I can't afford to waste any more free time on Speidi.

While we wait with bated breath to hear about their next move, we can all relive this moment of watching Speidi get told off by Rylan on Big Brother:

Would you watch another reality show featuring Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt?
