Charlie Hunnam Quitting Rumors Aren't Even '50 Shades' Movie's Biggest Problem Now

Flicks 22

charlie hunnamWhile everyone is ridiculously distracted by silly rumors about Charlie Hunnam quitting Fifty Shades of Grey, we're forgetting to ask the most important question of the moment: Who the heck is the supporting cast?! Granted, as it's been said time and again, the story is mostly centered on Anastasia and Christian. Even the producers admitted that they devoted a significant amount of time to casting the leads, because they are the heart of the film. So the talent stepping into the shoes of, say, Kate KavanaghElliot GreyElena Lincoln, etc., wasn't a priority. Back in August, that was understandable.

But uh, now that we're thisclose to the movie actually shooting? Kinda seems imperative that they nail down the rest of the cast, doncha think?

Reports last month stated that Focus and Universal plan to start shooting in Vancouver, B.C. on November 5 -- almost a month away. And yet, that IMDb page for the film is looking pretty barren!

Everyone needs to be able to wrap their head around being cast, get a look at the script, prepare for shooting, right? Is the studio really going to give people less than a month to do all of that? Maybe. Or perhaps they've already been cast, and they're just waiting for the most opportune moment to reveal the news. Maybe we won't hear 'til buzz about E.L. James' wine has died down, and the author's willing to change the conversation? Ha. Who knows!

All we do know is that if we don't hear about the rest of the cast soon, it seems safe to assume that shooting isn't going to start when we first suspected it would, and production could end up getting delayed. If that's happening on account of casting supporting characters, that's all sorts of ridiculous!

What do you think is going on with casting? Who do you hope will be cast in the supporting roles?

I wish they would get on with it already. For those not happy with Christian and Ana they can get over it, it's done. I'm not fond of the choice for Ana and didn't know who Charlie was until I went to watch Sons of Anarchy and am now addicted to the show and that beautiful man. But yes I would like to see more actors that are going to be cast here.

They both look like hell, definetly NOT Christian and Ana. Good Luck. Time to stop following

I really don't think I will watch it..Maybe when it comes out on DVD I will watch it at a freinds. I don't plan a spending a nickel on it.sucky cast and completely unattractive.

Get over yourselves. The casting is great except for Ana but if you love the book truly then you should watch the movie and quit whining about the cast. Your actors that you wanted didn't want the part which was their choice so suck it up and enjoy who they have.

I'm just tired of all the hype. No I don't care for the cast either, but I will see it.  I enjoyed the books immensely. I don't know why I keep coming to this site, all you get is teased. Enough already!

The casting for Ana is perfect. At first I was not so convinced but after I watched and episode of Ben and Kate, she is great for the role, she's an excellent actress.

I disagree on the casting for Christian, I don't think Charlie has the looks or the acting ability to pull of this role. I really wish Ian or matt bomber was cast instead of Charlie.

And for the role of Katherine I really hope Isla Fischer gets it! She would be perfect fit!

Kate, I disagree with your comment. Not perfect at all, she doesn't look a thing like Ana even with brown hair. I watched Ben and Kate too, and pretty much everything else she's been in...granted they were all about 5 min scenes involving her being a sleaze, but she is not the youthful, beautiful, doe-eyed, small Ana in the books. Nothing I've ever seen her in screamed Anastasia Steele to me at all. She doesn't have the right look no matter what.

Since they obviously didn't follow the books when casting for Christian and Ana, if they were to cast like the books for the supporting cast they will steal the show, not Charlie and Dakota. Dakota is not our beautiful Ana and she looks very old for her age. Charlie is already around Elliot's age and it shows too and he isn't exactly drop dead gorgeous like Christian is supposed to be. They're going to have to dumb it down on looks for both Kate and Elliot, and Jose. Elliot's going to have to be even older, and when it comes time to cast Mrs. Robinson, she'll have to look older than the late 30s-early 40s Ana says in the books because Charlie will already be mid 30s. This cast is going to be so bland and off physically when in the books the characters are far from. I still can't believe we don't even have a supporting cast yet. I already feel it's been ruined with what we already have though.

I hope they do the books justice... but, have a feeling that once everything is said and done. It will only be one film cause of the low box office draw.
