If you can't wait to see The Hunger Games: Catching Fire when it hits theaters on November 22, it seems you're not alone. Advance tickets went on sale Tuesday, and Catching Fire is easily the highest pre-seller, nabbing 23 percent of all tickets sold in the last 24 hours.
There's so much interest in the Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay has already started filming (check out the on-set photo of Jennifer Lawrence snuggling with Liam Hemsworth). But back to our current installment and the very latest goodies for fans: Fandango has released a behind-the-scenes featurette on the filming of Catching Fire, and Entertainment Weekly has just published four collectible covers featuring Katniss, Peeta, Gale, and Finnick.
Let's start with that Fandango IMAX featurette. At just over two minutes, it's well worth checking out, because it includes never-released footage from the movie along with commentary from Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence, and director Francis Lawrence. The overall purpose, besides promoting the film, seems to be to stoke our interest in the fact that Catching Fire was filmed in IMAX -- and I'd say they did a pretty great job of doing so.
Check it out:
It really looks like it's going to be visually stunning, doesn't it?
And now to those EW covers. The accompanying article on Catching Fire sounds like it's going to be chock-full of fascinating details once it hits stands, but for now, whet your appetite on these images:
I might just have to expand my Team Gale allegiance to include Finnick, because damn.
Last but not least, a quote from Catching Fire producer Nina Jacobson on their efforts to respect the seriousness of the story:
In every scene we asked ourselves, "How would these people feel if they came back to the Hunger Games." What happens when you come back from these experiences of war, not what happens in a movie when you’ve kicked a lot of ass?
I am SO looking forward to seeing this movie. What about you?
