So many of us are still shocked and saddened by the sudden death of former Bachelor star Gia Allemand. It's just so hard to come to terms with the fact that she chose to take her own life.
And while it's nearly impossible to imagine the grief her family and friends are still going through, her boyfriend Ryan Anderson has spoken out about Gia's suicide. As you'd expect, dealing with the aftermath of emotions hasn't been easy for him.
To help him move on and get through each day, he admits that going back to work has helped and that his teammates and family have been a constant source of support.
And in the midst of his heartache, somehow it sounds like he's found a little bit of peace. He said:
I wasn't planning on saying all this, but let's be honest here. We live in a society now where you've got to live up to something, you've got to be a certain person and you're not going to be accepted and every single person, every single person has something special about them. That's what I want to be my goal here. To have everybody here know that they're not alone. Whatever you're going through in your life, you're not alone.
Ryan is taking things one step further to make sure that his message reaches as many people as possible. As you will hear in this video clip, he and Gia's family are planning on starting a foundation in her honor.
Wow. Even though talking about Gia brought Ryan to tears, it's obvious that he has such a strong faith in God and is doing his best to try and make something positive come out of such a horrible tragedy.
Instead of falling apart, he's finding a way to honor her memory -- and to move on with his life as well as can be expected, which definitely speaks volumes about his strength and character.
Hopefully he and Gia's family will continue to find peace going forward, even though some days are definitely going to be easier to deal with than others. I guess in a situation like this, all you can do is take things one moment at a time.
Do you think Ryan is handling things well?
