Bachelorette star Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried may be one of the corniest couples to emerge from the ABC show ever, but they seem to be doing everything right when it comes to dating. They subtly flirt online back and forth, try new things for each other, and make a conscious effort to go out on date nights. Take their outing last night, for example, when they went out with Bachelor season 13 couple Jason and Molly Mesick. I mean come on, who doesn't love a good old-fashioned double date -- amiright?
It wasn't just a date, though. It was a "family dinner," or so Des said on her Twitter. The Bachelorette star has a point, though. It's pretty easy to consider the Mesick couple family, they've been through the exact same sort of reality TV hell. I'd say that creates a bond like no other.
Think about it: We may watch all of the different Real Housewives cast mates fight and laugh at what happens on episodes of Vanderpump Rules, but the only people who really understand what it's like to be on one of these reality shows are the stars themselves. Regardless of whether or not Gretchen Rossi and the newly married Tamra Judge get along, they'll always have a strong bond over the craziness they've been through as reality TV stars.
I'm sure there are loads of things that Des and Molly can relate to as former ABC stars. For one, their lives are up for public scrutiny 24/7, which can never be easy. People will constantly question their relationships, and at the end of the day, only they know the truth behind their feelings.
So whether or not Des and Molly are really "sisters" (spoiler alert: they're not), I can see why they consider one another family. Heck, when you put yourself through that kind of lifestyle, I'm sure you need to rely on all the support you can get.
Do you see where Des is coming with the "family" comment?
