Juicy '50 Shades of Grey' Audition Details Reveal Just How Raunchy the Movie Will Be

Flicks 35

chloe bridgesFifty Shades of Grey fans may have thought that when Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam were announced as the flick's leading lady and man, the jig was up. The guessing games were over! Any cats worth wondering about had already been let out of the bag. Pffft! How wrong they were!

As it turns out, director Sam Taylor-Johnson and the rest of "Team Fifty" seem to have quite a few more tricks up their sleeves. At least if what one actress, who this week admitted to auditioning for Anastasia, has to say about the boundary-pushing script is true ...

Chloe Bridges, who stars as teenage Carrie Bradshaw's nemesis on The Carrie Diaries, revealed to Cosmopolitan.com at NY Fashion Week that she struggled with her audition because of the explicit content. (For the uninitiated, sides are readings/scenes for the audition.) Chloe explained:

There were three pages of sides that I was going to audition with. I read them and then was like, I really can't do this. If you read these three pages of sides, you would die. I still ... show them to my friends for fun.

Although she couldn't really go into too much detail, of course, she did elaborate a bit on the graphic territory the audition scenes covered ...

The scene was, like, the girl telling her friends about some sexcapade she had ... But it goes into extreme detail and uses the word sperm a couple times. I was like, 'I don't know guys, I have to go home to my grandparent's house in a few months at Christmas, I don't know if I can do this.' ... It was intense. So mad props to the people who are going to do it. You had to be able to take it seriously and not laugh or turn bright red.

As Ana would say, "Oh my!" Chloe went on to explain that "sperm" was used "in a very sexual way" -- NOT a clinical context. (Well, yeah. This isn't Grey's Anatomy or House where that's even a question ...)

While Chloe seems to have been scandalized, I'm not so sure hearing this is completely unexpected. Anyone who has read even a page or two of the book knows what sort of subject matter the story deals with and the very sexual parameters the film is going to have to exist within to stay at all true to the book!

I'm actually wondering if this "sperm" side was more of a test than something that was actually in the script, because it sounds a little ridiculous. Like a moment that could have us snickering instead of getting hot and bothered. (Or maybe it was meant for comic relief?) Either way, sounds like Dakota and Charlie have some prettttyyy spicy material to work with here. Let's hope they can handle the heat!

What do you think about Chloe's revelation about the script? Does it sound cringeworthy to you?
