Lamar Odom Leaves Rehab After a Day, Showing He's Not Ready for Help

lamar odomLamar Odom has completed his stint in rehab. After one day. On Thursday afternoon, the NBA star checked out of the facility he admitted himself into for a drug addiction on Wednesday morning. He was seen exiting the center with an assistant, and was spotted out and about in Los Angeles later that day.

That was a speedy recovery.

I really don't see how Lamar and Khloe are going to work, or how Lamar is ever going to get better, if he doesn't get the proper help he needs. From what I hear, rehab is no walk in the park, but to leave after one day shows he isn't serious at all about getting help for his drug addiction and making things work with his wife. Rehab is exactly where he should be right now.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, my heart breaks for Khloe. I can't imagine how frustrating and depressing this must be for her right now. We all know the only thing she wants is for Lamar to get help, and obviously that's not happening. There's only so much she can try to do -- and at the same time, only so much pain she can take before she walks away.

Hopefully, Lamar will re-check himself into a rehab center some time in the near future (read: right now). Otherwise, it's only a matter of time before Khloe ups and leaves him for good. And even though he reportedly cheated on her left and right, I seriously doubt that's what he wants.

What do you think of this?

So so sad. Khloe needs to stay strong, take care of herself and if Lamar truly loves her he will go through rehab and stop his selfish behavior.

Pretty judgemental. Maybe we should find out the facts and hear from legit sources before we begin strongly opining about the Odoms.

Normal words like "selfish" are not relevant to an addict: the thoughts and behaviors are ruled by needing a fix, not by conscience or consideration of others. It does no good for anyone to chastise addicts; their world and frame of reference is completely altered, and the only antidote is rehab. Lamar is suffering, Khloe is suffering: What else is there to do or say but wish them both strength, peace, and wellness?
