‘Game of Thrones’ Recasts Hottie Daario But Is the New Hunk Babe Enough for Daenerys?

TV Addict 12

Game of Thrones season 4Game of Thrones season 3 is now but a distant memory, and we have months to wait until the premiere of Game of Thrones season 4. Ugh. But considering there are over 10,000 characters in this series, casting news and production updates have run rampant, giving GoT fans just a little hint of what's to come in what's sure to be yet another amazing season. The latest? One of the hottest, most underwear-model-looking characters has officially been recast: Ed Skrein is being replaced by Michiel Huisman to play Daario Naharis.

Yeeeah, remember him? Dude with incredible cheekbones and piercing baby blues who had crazy sexual tension with our beloved Daenerys Targaryen? The one who Jorah Mormont feared would forever banish him into "just friends" zone when it comes to Dany?

Needless to say, considering how in love women were with Ed, this recasting may be a bit more noticeable than the others.

Other characters, such as The Mountain, Tommen Baratheon, and Beric Dondarrion, have been all recast as the seasons have progressed, but Ed's Daario was by far the prettiest and most prominent.

You remember, right?

Words that go straight to Dany's ... heart:

Poor, poor Jorah:

Anyway, it's little wonder that Ed stole a lot of women's (even Dany's) hearts last season. We'll have to wait and see if Michiel Huisman -- who's best known as Sonny on Treme -- has what it takes to make us forget all about poor, cast aside Ed. From what I've seen, there's been no official reason why they had to change up the actors. Maybe Emilia Clarke, who plays Dany, just couldn't handle all that sexual tension on set and requested a replacement. Kidding. Sort of ...

Or perhaps they're going to make book fans super happy by going in a completely different direction. In A Storm of Swords, Daario actually has a blue, three-pronged beard. His eyes and curly hair are blue as well. But then to mix things up, his "mustachios are painted gold" and he wears super-bright colors. Can you even imagine? I'd love to see this Daario come to life.

Regardless of what happens and how well Michiel takes over the role, which will become even more prominent in season 4, this will always be inevitable for our poor Jorah:

Are you surprised that they recast Daario for season 4?

Michelle Collier Cleland

I am shocked! He was perfect and there seemed to be ALOT of chemistry between the characters.

I agree with the decision. I don't think he fit the role either. GoT usually has awesome casting imo, but this dude stuck out like a sore thumb. I'm excited to see how the new guy turns out!

I'm glad they recast him too. All I kept thinking when he first showed up on the show was geez I hope they're not setting that skeezy fake looking underwear model up as her love interest. He did seem in love all right - WITH HIMSELF. There was no chemistry between them at all.

Yeah, the actor was definitely A LOT different from the character described in the book. He did give off a sleazy  vibe. Because he didn't fit the role, (though makeup would have helped) I'm  not surprised he was recast.

I kept waiting for him to say "i can't believe it's not butter"...

never cared for Fabio so certainly was not happy about a look a like.

Cynthia Wilson

Yes, he was a good reason to watch
