I truly am shocked. Even after Kim's first post-baby appearance. Even after Kanye's endearing interview. Even after the unveiling of baby North West! Kris Jenner's talk show was still canceled after it's six-week trial run. According to sources, Kris was told: "There is no chance the talk show is going to get a green light from FOX. The ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it." The show did apparently get ratings boost from Kanye's appearance on the last day, but not enough to land her a full season.
Guess not everyone cares about the Kardashians as much as we thought.
I didn't watch Kris' show (I have a job, you guys), but I really was under the impression that it was doing alright, and it would for sure would get the go-ahead. I guess it was all just Kardashian Internet hype. I mean, don't get me wrong, I certainly didn't think there needed to be a Kris Jenner show in the already oversaturated market of daytime talk shows. But after North West's debut, I assumed it was basically a guarantee that America was going to be saddled with yet another hour of the Kardashians.
I'm sure Kris was bummed out when she heard the news, but at the end of the day, she's a fixture on three other TV shows, so it's kind of like, "Whatevs." And while Kris (which, side note, should have totally been named Kris!) was a talk show on paper, I think we all know the direction the program would have wound up taking: The fourth Kardashian reality show. Yeah, Kris would have sat behind a desk and interviewed celebrities, but you know there was a daily "Get Kim's Look!" or "Koffee With Khloe" segment in the works. I mean, seriously, how much more can we take?
RIP, Kris!. RIP.
Are you surprised that the show was cancelled?
