The Glee cast and crew have been back together for a couple weeks now filming season 5 in wake of Cory Monteith's death. We've heard from Naya Rivera, who plays Santana, that the mood on set is "terrible" and that the week spent filming the memorial episode has been "the worst week ever." Matthew Morrison, who plays Will Schuester, says that now that the whole cast has spent the last few months mourning Cory Monteith, they're back at it again mourning his character Finn. As hard as it is, Morrison says that the tragedy has made the entire cast and crew tighter than ever.
"We all knew we were very close," Morrison said. "I think this just kind of solidified it like we are a rock for each other right now. It's quite a beautiful thing."
I can only imagine what it's gotta be like for all of them. Just wait until you hear what Matt had to say about how Lea Michele has been handling herself on set.
According to Matt, Lea has been "the most strongest of all of us." At this point, that doesn't surprise me. We keep hearing how unbelievable Lea has been, both on- and off-set. Last month, the show's creator Ryan Murphy told TV Line that although Monteith's girlfriend was crushed, she was strong and super adamant about getting the cast and crew together during the difficult time.
Lea has really pulled it together for her friends, family, and costars. It seems as though her strength is the biggest thing that's keeping everyone going. It's impressive. OK, that's an understatement. At the very least, Lea clearly understands that she is going to have to move forward. Filming, photo shoots, commercials ... she can't stop doing the things that she's done for years because Cory is gone.
After everything we've heard about it so far, I for one am looking forward to the memorial episode and to see the McKinley crew back together, strong.
Are you looking forward to the memorial episode?
