Paula Patton Was Cool With Miley Cyrus Twerking on Robin Thicke but His Mom Was NOT

This Just In 8

Miley Cyrus and Robin ThickeYep, we're still talking about Miley Cyrus's most memorable performance at the VMAs on Sunday. Her and twerking, tongue-wagging self outraged more than a few people, but Paula Patton, wife of  Robin Thicke, whom Miley go oh so close to, isn't one of them. In fact, it sounds like she was just fine with it

Sources told TMZ reports that Patton freaked out after the performance were completely false, and that she was totally cool with Miley groping her husband. She said she knew what was coming as there'd been multiple rehearsals. And as the site points out, it's not like she tries to keep him on a tight leash anyway. I mean, have you seen the "Blurred Lines" video?

There was person who did have a big problem with Miley getting so close to Robin, however -- Robin's mom, Gloria Loring.

She told OMG! Insider she did not understand what Miley was trying to do. "I just keep thinking of her mother and father watching this," she said.

I was not expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son. The problem is, now I can never unsee it.

That is true and something no mom really wants to see, but you have to wonder if she's seen the "Blurred Lines" video. She went on to say of Miley:

I think she's misbegotten in this attempt of hers. And I think it was not beneficial. I didn't get what her point was. It was so over the top as to almost be a parody of itself.

As for Miley's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, he didn't offer much of an opinion on his daughter's performance, but expressed his unconditional support for her. He told Entertainment Tonight:

Of course I'll always be here for Miley. Can't wait to see her when she gets home. She's still my little girl and I'm still her Dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out. I love her unconditionally and that will never change.

Still, I bet his heart has to be a little achy breaky over the whole thing.

Are you surprised by Paula Patton's reaction?

Have you seen Robin's videos? I'm sure his mom is used to it by now. Miley was tame compared to some of his stuff.

The entire performance seemed well-rehearsed. Robin Thicke came up behind Miley twice so she could twerk on him. He's certainly not innocent in this whole thing. Perhaps mommy needs to realize that Robin Thicke was just as much a part of this as Miley is. Maybe she can criticize him as well or leave Miley alone.

Maybe she should be more worried about a son who's eager to "degrade women" and glorify rape than some chick performing a risqué show with her son.

Miley needs to keep her tongue in her mouth, the foam finger out of her crotch and practice her craft a little better. She sounded terrible and is trying way too hard to be punk, which she is not.

Oh shut up MOM! According to your beloved daughter-in-law the whole thing was planned and rehearsed. Plus the props match YOUR douche-bags son's new video which means he probably had more to do with the premise than 20 year old Miley. You failed by raising a pervy middle-age sexist rape culture propagator. So shut up. YOU are a mother watching your "Blurred Lines" rape promoting son move TOWARDS a young woman.

His mother starred on a soap opera. Has she forgotten the insane nonsense that occurs on a soap opera? Get real, woman.

I wih ou would stop saying that this was Miley Cyrus's performance. Last I saw, Robin Thicke was on that stage too.

And you guys have article after article about "slut shamming" and here you are doing it to Miley and not doing it to a married man.

What happened to respect? What happened to men saying "I respect you, so I won't be doing that" and women saying "I have respect for my body, so no".

It's this society. What a shame.
