They're doing everything in their power to make us believe that everything is hunky-dory between them, but sadly, it's really starting to look like things are headed south for Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried. Between In Touch reporting that they're already over and a couple interesting messages they posted to Twitter, at the very least, it's clear that the pressure of being in the public eye is starting to get to them.
Let's start with Des -- who sent out a semi-cryptic tweet (actually, an Ice T quote) about what's important in a relationship.
She said, "It's not about looking into each others eyes but looking out in the same direction. -Ice T"
(Man, that's deep.)
But seriously, doesn't it sound like she's trying to defend her relationship with Chris -- something she's been doing ever since The Bachelorette finale since most people assume she settled for him after Brooks dumped her?

And why the heck are they not looking into each other's eyes?!? Isn't that what newly engaged couples do? Gaze at one another all day and dream about the future, or something sappy like that?
Let's shift gears and talk about Chris' telling tweet for a second. He posted, "Enjoying my weekend with @DesHartsock and some friends in Chelan! Peaceful getaway! #MuchNeeded"
Much needed, huh? Ok, so maybe I'm reading way too much into this one -- but it sure sounds like Chris was hungry for a break from all the post-Bachelorette hype.
But if he and Des are having trouble handling all the bullsh&% that goes along with being a couple who met, dated for like five seconds, and got engaged on national television -- it really doesn't bode well for their future. (At all.)
I mean, they haven't even been publicly together for a full month yet, and already they need to escape and aren't looking into each other's eyes? What's next -- sleeping in separate beds? Heading to pre-marital counseling?
I hate to say it, but I'll be pretty shocked if Des and Chris are still going strong even a month from now. And if they are? It'll only be because they've gotten rid of their TVs, magazine subscriptions, and internet access completely and moved to the middle of nowhere.
Do you think Des and Chris are cracking under the pressure?
