Gia Allemand's 'Bachelor Pad' Ex Opens Up About His Grief Over Her Passing

TV Addict 7

Gia AllemandAnyone who watched Bachelor Pad with Gia Allemand and Wes Hayden will remember the way the sparks flew between the two of them on the show. Later, they dated "casually" for a few months, though the distance between them made it difficult and eventually things ended. Now, in the wake of Allemand's apparent suicide, Hayden has come back on the scene -- after not talking to her for nearly a year -- to talk about his grief.

Hayden says he hasn't slept for days, and while I have no doubt that is true, it also seems just a little fishy that he would come out now -- PUBLICLY -- to talk about it. Anyone who remembers Hayden from Bachelorette Jillian Harris' season might also remember how much he desired fame to the exclusion of all other things.

He may very well have feelings left for her as we all do for people with whom we were once intimate. But still. It just seems ... sketchy. Hayden said:

Gia was pretty sensitive. She had a great and sensitive heart ... I think she really wanted to kind of step away and have like, a real life, get married ... I think that’s what she was after -- not necessarily the fame from The Bachelor. I think she just genuinely wanted to loved, to get married, to have a life, to have kids. I can’t believe what’s happened.

Judging from how she seemed on the show, it does make sense that she made an impact on people and that they loved her. But I am just not sure I buy his public adoration of her. Why were they never more serious then? Why was he not more in touch with her?

This is the kind of tragedy that brings out the best and worst in people. A lot of people are coming out of the woodwork to claim they were so close with Gia. But how many really were? My guess is that number is much, much lower.

Grief is a funny thing, but mostly it's intensely private. The fact that these people aren't staying private in their grief seems highly fishy to me.

By all means, celebrate your friend's life, cry, miss her. But when you go in public talking about how "close" you were and telling the public all about what she wanted and how she was, people are going to question your motives.

It just feels icky.

If you or someone you know is considering suicide, please call a suicide prevention hotline. There are always people who want to talk to you and help you. Please reach out to your friends. They want to help. You can reach help at: 1-800-273-TALK.

Do you think Wes is sincere?

I think two things:  Wes is sincere with his thoughts and description of Gia and I think Wes is seeking yet more relevance in the public eye by using his association with Gia.  Pathetic...

Does it matter if Wes, is sincere?? This poor girl has passed. May we just speak kindly of each other. Thank u

It's not our place to judge his grief... whether it is for attention or sincere. A lovely woman has taken her own life, that in itself is tragic enough without us putting our judgement on who is mourning her loss..

Leave Wess Alone, I do believe he is sincere

^^He's an attention whore^^  There was no need for him to publicly comment on someone who he hadn't even had any contact with in over a year.  I highly doubt he's losing many a night's sleep.

RIP Gia. You left this earth way too early but God has a plan for you.

(RE: Wes, he is still a jerk IMO. On one of the entertainment shows this week he was saying something to the effect of...not only was Gia beautiful, she could carry on a conversation." DUH. That is his thinking - that beautiful women usually cannot???)
