Before we get into the meat of part two of The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion, I have a suggestion for Andy Cohen and the ladies for future reunions -- can we please get a wardrobe change at some point? Especially when it comes to a three-part reunion, these outfits start burning my eyes. Some variety would help. Think about it? Thanks.
Anyway, as for the rest of the drama, it was all about Gretchen Rossi tonight, as it has been pretty much all season. She's pissed almost everyone off at one time or another, and tonight they let her know it. She tried to take Tamra Barney down for being two-faced to Alexis Bellino by bringing out her text message documentation, but that backfired when Alexis said Tamra had already told her that she was just telling Gretchen what she wanted her to hear. Gretchen once again was confused.
Tamra went on to blast her for being self-involved and making everything about her. She said that when Eddie proposed, Gretchen texted her for four hours moaning about how it should have been her getting engaged. Tamra also called her out for leaking rumors that Bravo had paid Eddie to propose. Andy shot those down as well.
Then it was Heather Dubrow's turn to take Gretchen to task for the whole Malibu Country debacle. Gretchen was armed and ready with her voicemail, but it did little to prove that she didn't use the alleged role to try and hurt Tamra. "You can twist and shimmy this all you like but you did this to hurt Tamra," Heather told her.
Alexis called her a liar, and then they all started in on her proposal to Slade Smiley. Vicki Gunvalson started by saying she thought the whole thing was for show, and they all pretty much agreed. Soon it was just too much for Gretchen to take, so she burst into tears. Okay, not actually tears, because her eyes didn't seem to be even the slightest bit damp, but she moaned and made some crying-like noises for a bit. Her thick (THICK) mascara didn't even budge. It was painful to watch and so absolutely unconvincing, it was comical. I don't normally like to see one person ganged up on by others, but I felt little to no sympathy for Gretchen.
The other ladies pretended to be nice to her after her weird "crying" breakdown, backtracking and saying it was just the timing of the whole engagement, not her love for Slade they were questioning. There were definitely some doors left open there for friendships to be rebuilt in the future.
So that's two parts down, one to go. Next week shows Brooks Ayers making an appearance, and Vicki storming off the set claiming she's done with the show. Can't wait to see what that's about.
Do you think Gretchen deserved what she got on the reunion tonight?
