Kourtney Kardashian's paternity lawsuit drama is finally over. Her nightmare began when model Michael Girgenti filed legal documents claiming that he was Mason Disick's biological father. After meeting at a 2008 photo shoot, he said they had had unprotected sex around the time she conceived. When it was clear this guy wasn't just going to go away, Kourtney felt compelled to have a DNA test and finally speak out about the whole sordid mess.
Here is her August 15 statement:
After three-and-a-half years of rumors and lies being spread by an individual I met briefly at a photo shoot, I am setting the record straight that Scott is Mason's father. While it saddens me to have to address these ridiculous lies -- especially when the truth was never in doubt -- this story must be put to rest.
The DNA test provided definitive proof that Scott is 99.99 percent her baby daddy. I agree with her -- this whole sordid mess is ridiculous ... not to mention embarrassing.
At some point you have to feel sorry for the Kardashians. Yes, they seem to have it all -- that brings on an endless trail of haters. It's as though they have targets on their backs. I suppose that is what comes with their level of fame, but some of these attacks are so cruel. Poor Kourtney shouldn't have to defend the paternity of her child and actually have to show the world a paternity test! That is just awful and humiliating.
It's as though the world loves watching their excessive, superficial lifestyle as much as seeing them miserable. Each of the Kardashian sisters is going through some sort of public hell. Kim is battling Kanye West cheating rumors, while Khloe is trying to prove to the world that her marriage to Lamar Odom isn't over. It's really kind of sad. I am beginning to wonder if they have more foes than true fans.
Do you think people like seeing the Kardashian's personal lives implode?
