There are some Game of Thrones season 4 (potential) spoilers that are just ... scared. And discussing if we're going to see Catelyn Stark or Robb Stark again is one of 'em.
Anyone who has read A Storm of Swords knows exactly what I'm talking about. Fans who are solely tuning in to the HBO show, well, there's only so much filler I can write so you can click on over to something else to avoid the spoilers. Here's a video of a dog playing fetch with himself. It's always fun to keep watching this kitten petrified of the vacuum. Or check out 22 dogs who are excited to be dogs.
I hope those of you who haven't read the books have gone on to something else so the rest of us can speculate if either Catelyn or Robb will come back in season 4. Fans are used to hoping and praying for the return of dead characters. I mean, Eddard Stark is alive somewhere, right? Khal Drogo made one cameo, can't he do that again?
OMG did I say it clearly enough yet? SPOILERS AHEAD.
For those of you who are wondering if Catelyn Stark would ever return to Game of Thrones, the answer is: sort of! Robb, sadly, will most likely not appear in season 4.
As everyone who has seen the show/read the books is aware, Catelyn Stark and her son Robb were killed during the Red Wedding. She had her throat slashed and then her enemies stripped her body and threw it in a river. It was one of the most shocking, insanely memorable moments in season 3.
But then there was a twist at the very end of the third book that few readers saw coming. If you did, you're lying. Three days later, she was resurrected by Lord Beric Dondarrion (the one who has been brought back to life numerous times). By doing so, he truly dies, representing his seventh death.
Like Beric, Catelyn, who renames herself "Lady Stoneheart," is only able to partially heal. After her resurrection, her flesh is soft to the touch and looks like curdled milk (lovely) due to the river water. Half of her hair is white and wiry while the other half is simply gone. She's got scratches all over her face and there's still a gaping wound at her throat, which makes it very hard to understand her when she speaks.
Can you even imagine the field day the HBO costume/makeup department will have with Lady Stoneheart?
Anyway, she takes over command of the Brotherhood Without Banners and pretty much loses her shit. She goes after everyone who she deems is a traitor. If anyone is associated with the Freys, Boltons, or Lannisters, he is hanged, regardless of age, regardless if they even had anything to do with the Red Wedding.
Fans can't help but wonder if Lady Stoneheart's appearance will be the final surprise in season 4. It'll be fantastic to see her come alive on the screen, and a resurrected Michelle Fairley would look so badass (we're going to miss her!). Hard to believe we have to wait an entire year for this cameo, but we can only hope we'll get to see her after all this exasperating and torturous -- yet kind of fun -- anticipation!
Do you think Lady Stoneheart will make an appearance in Game of Thrones season 4?
