I can't decide if this is incredibly romantic or super cheesy -- but Bachelorette couple Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried are writing poetry together and plan on publishing it in a book. I know, I know, like I said, it's kind of adorable yet really sappy and annoying at the same time.
Apparently the two of them think people will be interested in reading their professions of undying love to each other over and over again. Or perhaps they're trying to inspire other couples to keep the fire alive? Whatever the case, the book is going to be called Diamonds and Hearts, and the assumption is that it references Chris's former baseball days and Desiree's last name.
(Aww. Isn't that special?)
Chris announced their little joint venture via Instagram by posting this photo along with the caption, "Excited to announce I am publishing my poetry! With the support of Des and my family, I have decided to make this dream a reality! Stay tuned! @hartsdesire4 #DiamondsandHearts #ComingSoon!"
(Oh yeah. We're staying tuned, all right. I won't lie -- I'll probably buy a copy.)
OMG. Considering Brooks Forester already made fun of Chris' poetry -- I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he gets wind of this new project.
And speaking of Brooks, I wonder if he inspired any of the lines Des wrote? OMG. Yes, it was incredibly sad, but wouldn't some of the stuff she said to him during their breakup work well for a really tragic poem? She said something along the lines of, "I loved you. I still love you. I love you. Even though you just broke my heart." (I can't remember her exact sentiment, but it's close to that.)
I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I think it's time to pass the title of "Cheesiest Couple in Bachelor/ette History" from Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici to Des and Chris. But you know what they say -- the couple who pens poetry together stays together. (Or something like that.)
Will you read Des and Chris' poetry?
