John Mayer & Katy Perry's New Duet Finally Explains Their Turbulent Love Affair (LISTEN)

John Mayer and Katy PerryJohn Mayer is a changed man. OK, maybe not entirely, and it's not like he and I are personal BFFs, but he's so not the meanie that he used to be back when he trashed ex-flings Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift. You know how I know that? Because his new album, Paradise Valley, comes out next week on August 20, and on the album, he has a duet with girlfriend Katy Perry titled "Who You Love" where he's, like, totally mushy. And by mushy, I mean soft as a baby's bottom. You heard it here first: "Who You Love" TOTALLY reveals the status of John and Katy's relationship.

Spoiler: It's really, really good. The song AND their relationship status, that is. With lines like "I tried to run before but I'm not running anymore / 'cause I fought against it hard enough to know / that you love who you love who you love," it's safe to say that this sweet music-makin' twosome is in it for the long haul.

That is, if they didn't jinx the whole thing by making a song together.

So let's listen to the track, shall we?

I love the relaxed vibe of the track, and I'll be the first to say that this is one of MANY excellent songs off the new album (other personal favorite being "Wildfire" featuring Frank Ocean). Seems to me like both this relationship with Katy Perry and his move to the Montana mountains have done John Mayer well.

Back to "Who You Love," though. Not only does Katy Perry sound pretty solid on the track, but their voices just definitely play off one another in such an excellent way. Oh, and Perry told SiriusXM radio that the giggle she does at the end is a "love giggle" and a "real moment," so there's that. Are there wedding bells in the future? I wouldn't doubt it.

Do you like John Mayer and Katy Perry's new song?
