Farrah Abraham was once a somewhat sweet cheerleader from Council Bluffs, Iowa. When we met her on MTV's 16 & Pregnant, she was a little spoiled, a little entitled, and yes, a little obnoxious, too. But she was a kid having a kid. We saw her grow up on Teen Mom, and while some hated her, I always kind of thought Farrah seemed ambitious and like maybe she, more than anyone else, might actually make something of herself.
Well, I was right. But I was also wrong. Farrah has "made" something out of herself, to be sure. She is a celebrity. Kind of. She made a porno, she had a weird thing with Charlie Sheen. She is in the spotlight. But at what cost? The two latest pieces of news on Farrah are that, according to a friend of hers, she is working essentially as an escort or, excuse me, a "sugar baby." This work involves meeting rich men for "dates" that may or may not include sex.
Additionally, Farrah was shopping a reality show that appears to have been turned down by every network before it even started. What is going on with Farrah?

The truth is, she is selling everything. Her body is up for grabs to the highest bidder. Her soul is gone. So what's left? Farrah is only 22 years old and she has sold everything that means everything. So who was real?
Was that girl from Iowa real? Or was she like this all along? My guess is the latter. After all, she was doing that kind of sketchy "modeling" thing prior to landing MTV and she seemed only too happy to be MTV's little teen mommy.
The problem is, this isn't going to last forever. She is in the spotlight now (for all the wrong reasons), but five years from now, she will be a joke, a blip on the pop culture radar that no one even remembers. Had she played it better, cooler, and taken her time, porn could have been her last effort rather than her first.
When Playboy is turning you down and no network wants your reality show and you are turning to glorified prostitution, things look pretty bad. But hey. Maybe she will marry a rich guy and all of this will be moot. Maybe. Stranger things have happened. But as a life goal, that's pretty sad.
Do you think Farrah is going to end up a has-been or make it?
